A young daughter goes on vacation beachside, and brings everyone home a gift. Well almost everyone. When mom asks what her daughter brought her, the daughter is silent, then says “just a minute!”. She runs up to her room, to her luggage, and brings back a tiny shell.

Mom came into the shop in December, telling me her story. Mom has carried that shell around in her purse or in a drawer for many years. She found it and said she wants to keep it safe so she never loses the shell and what it means to her.

This 4 x 4 white frame was perfect for a clean, simple yet beach feel. We picked out a back mat that had a sandy color and texture. I picked a somewhat deep frame not because of the shell, but so it can be a box that can sit on a shelf or bedside table.

Mom was elated with the finished result and left with her safely kept gift from the beach.
